Many of our volunteers at Saco Main Street work or live in our beautiful city, and through volunteering with us have developed good friendships.
You don’t have to stay all day; just an hour or two will make a huge impact on our events and projects while you have fun and enjoy our wonderful community.
Each of our annual events has a committee of volunteers wanting to make it happen, bigger and better than the year before. We are always looking for more ideas and inspiration to improve upon the existing framework of our city.
If you are more interested in a long-term position, Saco Main Street operates with the Four-Point Approach to Downtown Organizations, as described by the national organization Main Street America. Each point has a committee, as detailed here on our Organization page, and we’d love to have you join us in improving our efficiency and impact.
Strengthens downtown Saco’s economic base through business support, entrepreneurship, and investment. Works on issues like resource development, business recruitment, vacancy reduction, and fostering a thriving downtown.
Celebrates and promotes Downtown Saco as a vibrant place to live, work, and visit. Supports marketing, storytelling, and community events that draw residents and visitors alike to our historic downtown.
Enhances the physical and visual appeal of Downtown Saco through beatification, public art, historic preservation, and streetscape improvements. Focused on creating a welcoming and walkable downtown.
This committee helps power the mission behind the scenes and builds the foundation that keeps our organization strong and sustainable. This team focuses on fundraising, sponsorships, and volunteer development to ensure our programs, projects, and events can thrive.
Each of Saco Main Street’s signature events is powered by a dedicated team of volunteers who help bring the celebration to life.
