As one of the newest additions to our event lineup, Pride in the Park is more than just a party—it’s a celebration of love, inclusion, and allyship in the Saco community. Bursting with color, joy, and community spirit, our annual Pride in the Park kicks off the celebration of Pride Month.

From the color run, to the Maker’s Market, enjoying delicious eats from local food trucks, and dancing to the beat of the music, everyone is invited to celebrate love, diversity, and the freedom to express themselves authentically. Pride in the Park promotes physical activity and well-being while enhancing belonging and acceptance of the diverse community in Saco.

Housekeeping and Color Run event policies, and helpful event tips:
Waivers for the color run:
Every Color Run participant—or a parent/guardian if under 18—must have a signed waiver on file with Saco Main Street. A copy of the waiver can be downloaded here. To help make check-in on Saturday as smooth as possible, we highly recommend one of the following:
– Print and bring the signed waiver with you to check-in, or
– Sign, scan, and email it to programs@sacomainstreet.org by 5 PM on Friday, May 30.
Rain or shine, the forecast calls for 100% chance of Pride!
Dress warmly, layers recommended, and it’s always a good idea to pack an extra set of dry clothes (or two!). Umbrellas, rain jackets or ponchos, boots – whatever is going to keep you comfortable and dry, we recommend it!
Color Run course info:
The course is roughly 1.1 miles long, with varied but mostly grassy terrain. Plan for mud, soft surfaces, and puddles. The course is not timed, and running, walking, and strollers are all acceptable methods of movement along the course. A map of the course, including blast stations,
can be found here.
All runners must check in for the Color Run:
Even if you have pre-submitted your
waiver, you must check-in at the event to let us know you’re there & to receive your wrist band.
Color Run check-in and registration will only be open from 12-12:45 PM. Please plan to arrive early enough to check in!
– All color run participants
must wear their wrist band at all times so that event staff can easily identify you.
– The Color Run will begin at 1 PM, and will move in waves of 25-30 participants, every 5 minutes until all participants have started.
–
A note on t-shirts: If you registered on or before May 1, you are guaranteed a t-shirt in the size you included at registration. If you registered after May 1, a t-shirt is not guaranteed, shirts and sizes are first-come, first-served.
– the first 200 people to check in will receive a complimentary Pride in the Park swag bag!
What to bring:
– Right now, the forecast calls for rain in the morning and early afternoon, with spotty sunshine after 2 PM. Varied weather means you should be prepared for different conditions – everything from rain jackets to sun screen.
– Camp chairs, picnic blankets, beach towels – Pride in the Park is a great place to hang out, and we want you to be comfortable!
– Something to tie-dye! We will have a tie-dye station set up, and you are welcome to bring any items you would like to turn into colorful creations!
– Extra cash:
– If you’re able, we would love it if you would support the small businesses of the Maker’s Market!
– Saco Main Street will be raffling off a grill ($5/ticket, or $25/6 tickets)
– Saco Main Street will be selling stickers and Pride flags at our event information booth
– We will also have t-shirts from last year’s Pride In the Park for sale if you would like to purchase one for tie-dye
We are excited to share lots of fun activities with you!
Beyond the color run and Big Blast, there is so much to look forward to!
–
Black Kitten Entertainment will be spinning tunes all afternoon, capping it off with
karaoke from 3-4 PM!
–
Food trucks and food vendors will be on hand! Cheese the Day, Kona Ice, and Mainely Meatballs will all have their food trucks at the event, while Go See Tyce and Sea Spray Confection will also be on hand with delicious treats!
–
You won’t want to miss the Pride Maker’s Market and Vendor Fair! 30 local crafters, makers, and artisans will be selling their goodies – there is sure to be something for everyone! We are also welcoming several LGBTQ+ community resources to table at the event – view a full list of makers and vendors
here!
– If the sound and people become too stimulating for you, we will have a quiet, sensory-friendly space set aside from the main event for you to sit and relax.
Health & Safety
We will have an EMT on-hand from the Saco Fire Department, and – like last year – we also will have professional security from Beowulf Security for the event.
Statement of inclusion and community safety:
Pride in the Park is a family-friendly celebration committed to creating an open, inclusive, and welcoming environment for ALL. We embrace and uplift people of all gender identities, sexual orientations, places on the LGPTQIA+ spectrum, races, religions, abilities, and nationalities. Whether you’re running, dancing, crafting, singing karaoke, or just spending time with loved ones, Pride in the Park is a safe space where everyone is free to be exactly who they are.
